The Alaknanda owes its existence to the Satopanth and Bhagirath Kharak glaciers at whose confluence it arises out of. The river travels about 200 km till Devprayag where it meets the Bhagirathi from where we have the Ganges flow. The rafting on the Alaknandna has been an exciting affair for the thrill seeker owing to its fast flow. The river provides very exciting rapids from Grade II to IV
